About:
Moksananda is a British artist based in Valencia, Spain. Mostly self-taught, he studied drawing at the Gaia Art Academy in Valencia and painting with Barry John Raybould at the Virtual Art Academy, as well as filmmaking at Lights Film School, New York. His work has been exhibited in solo shows in Barcelona and Valencia, along with numerous group exhibitions across Spain.
In 2021, Moksananda studied under American Abstract Expressionist Ty Nathan Clark and was a finalist in the prestigious XXXV Sanvisens painting prize in Sitges, Spain. His artwork has been featured in publications, online platforms, and on book covers, and is held in private collections in Spain, Mexico, the UK, Cyprus, Holland, Austria, and Australia.
A committed Buddhist since taking vows into the Triratna Buddhist Order in 1985, Moksananda founded the Valencia Buddhist Centre and spent over three decades teaching and travelling throughout the Hispanic world. His spiritual practice deeply informs his artistic expression, creating a unique fusion of meditation and creativity in his paintings.
