Michael Schmeja

Michael Schmeja is a Melbourne-born artist whose journey in art began with a Diploma of Visual Art in 2000, followed by a Bachelor of Fine Art specialising in Drawing at the Victorian College of the Arts. His work, rooted in abstraction, explores both natural and architectural forms through oil, acrylic, and mixed media.

Influenced by Melbourne’s vibrant street art scene during his time at Blender Studios, Schmeja developed a distinct multi-layered approach, blending urban aesthetics with fine art techniques. Since relocating to Valencia in 2016, he continues to evolve his practice, working alongside European artists while also maintaining a studio in Melbourne.
