About:
Elizabeth Hefty-Khoury, originally from London and now based in Valencia, Spain, is an artist and writer with a diverse academic background, holding an MFA in Fine Art – Painting from the Art Institute, California, and an MA in Welsh/Celtic Studies from the University of Wales.
Her work is driven by a passion for history and literature, blending comparative mythology and poetry to examine cultural dichotomies and conflicts, often reflecting her own multicultural identity. Elizabeth’s art explores the commonalities and contrasts between Northern European and Middle Eastern myths and symbols, reinterpreting the past through a contemporary lens. Recent projects include the fusion of drawing and writing, reimagining Celtic symbols in the context of modern feminism, and a visual and literary exploration of Beirut.
